Biography

Rajesh is the founder & CEO of GoodGovern, a consulting firm specializing in providing advisory services in the areas of Governance Processes and Practices, Sustainability & ESG, Coaching & Culture, Diversity and CSR, determined to significantly alter the way these practices are engineered in corporate India. The firm offers services, solutions and technological products to aid Corporate Governance viz:- Governance Audit, Board Evaluation, Diversity, Sustainability/ESG Strategy, CSR Advisory, Reputation Risk Management, Coaching & Mentoring for Board members & top teams amongst others.

Rajesh is Chairman of Axis Trustee Services Ltd and serves on the Board of Max Life Insurance. He is also a trustee of the Axis Bank Foundation. Previously, he has served on the Boards of Axis Finance Limited and Axis PE.

Rajesh serves on SES Governance ESG Advisory Board and is also a Member of the CII Climate Change Council. He is on the advisory Council of Buddha Fellowship and the Museum of Solutions, Mumbai.

A quintessential General Management professional with over three decades of experience across industries and business functions, he was last Executive Director on the Board of Axis Bank Ltd and responsible for multiple functions viz Corporate Governance, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources, Compliance, Internal Audit, Corporate Real Estate, Company Secretary, Corporate Social Responsibility, Ethics, Sustainability and Legal under the Corporate Centre of the Bank. He was a member of the Large Fraud Committee, CSR Committee, Stakeholder relation Committee of the Board and Chairperson of the Audit Committee, Information Security, Risk Management and Crisis Committee of Executives

Before joining Axis Bank, Rajesh spent 20 years at Tata Group across group companies, starting with Rallis India Limited where he handled various responsibilities in Manufacturing, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Institutional Sales, and Export functions. He went on to head Tata Administrative Services (TAS) for the Tata Group. He also worked with Tata Global Beverages responsible for integrating various global businesses and products of the company viz. Tata Tea, Himalayan Water, Tetley and others under a common supply chain.

Rajesh is married to Hema, a successful homemaker and together they are proud parents to Mallika, Arooshi and Anshul. He devotes his free time to road travels, poetry and collecting music on Vinyl.
