Kunal Shah


Founder, FreeCharge   M Chandrasekaran Kunal Shah is an Indian entrepreneur and founder of FreeCharge. Shah graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Wilson College in Mumbai and briefly pursued MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies before dropping out. He started his career as a junior programmer at a BPO startup. Shah’s first startup venture was a company named Paisaback, which provided cash-back promotions for organised retailers. After analyzing the potential of recharge business from one of his clients, Shah founded FreeCharge in 2010. In April 2015, FreeCharge was acquired by Snapdeal for an estimated amount of $400 million. Shah was appointed as the new CEO of the company.

Former Executive Director and COO at L’Oréal India Pvt Ltd   Dinesh Dayal Dinesh joined the L’Oréal Group in 1984 in France where he began his career as a Management Trainee and held numerous roles in finance, marketing and operations. Subsequently, he was put in charge of expanding the L’Oréal business in South Asia. In 1990, he came to India as Marketing Director to set up the India business for L’Oréal in association with an Indian partner. In 1994, he played a key role in establishing L’Oréal India as a 100% subsidiary of the L’Oréal Group and in 2000 he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer. He was also Director of L’Oréal’s Luxury Products Division during its start up phase. He has launched brands such as Lancôme, Kiehl’s, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Diesel in India. He is also a member of the Company’s Board of Directors in India. He has had a stint as GM – Finance and Operations of L’Oréal’s Thailand operations. Dinesh is a Physics graduate from St. Stephen’s College (New Delhi) and has an MBA degree from INSEAD, France. An avid Scuba Diver; he is married and has two children.


Chairman & Managing Director, Quatrro Global Services. Raman Roy Raman is Chairman & Managing Director of Quatrro Global Services. He is widely regarded as the Pioneer and fondly referred to as the “Father of the Indian BPO Industry”. Raman is a pioneer four times over, having successfully led the BPO initiatives of American Express, GE (now Genpact) and Spectramind (now Wipro BPO) before incubating Quatrro which commenced operations in 2007. Raman is the Chairman of Executive Committee of NASSCOM for FY 2017-18, Past Chairman of BPO Committee of ASSOCHAM, Board Member of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) and sits on the board of various committees formed by the central and state-level governments of India. Advisory Director, General Atlantic Abhay Havaldar Abhay Havaldar has worked at GA since 2002. Mr. Havaldar helped establish GA’s Singapore office in 2011 and established GA’s India office in 2002. He currently serves as a Director on the board of IBS Software Services (P) Ltd. and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. Prior to GA, Mr. Havaldar started his career with the Tata Group and has held operating management responsibilities at Tata Unisys/Infotech (now TCS) and HCL Infosystems. Mr. Havaldar has been an investor in Indian businesses since 1996, as a partner at Draper International and Connect Capital. He is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) and a Board member of Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE). Recipient of Ramon Magasaysay Award and IPS officer 1972-2007   Kiran BediKiran Bedi has been India’s first and highest (woman) ranking officer who joined the Indian Police Service in 1972. She is the founder of two NGOs, Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation, which reach out to thousands of under -served children, women and men in the areas of education, vocational skills, environment, counseling, and health care to the urban and rural poor. Currently her NGOs are running four Community Colleges, registered with Indira Gandhi National Open University, to provide vocational and soft skills to Indian youth. Kiran Bedi has been voted as India’s most admired (THE WEEK 2002) and most trusted woman in India. Distinguished Scientist & Chief Controller, Research & Development, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi & Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, BrahMos Aerospace, New Delhi    Dr. A. SivathanuBorn on 15 July 1947, Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai did Electrical Engineering from Madras University, Management Programme at Harvard Business School, PhD from Pune University and D.Sc from Tumkur University. He is Distinguished Scientist and Chief Controller (Research & Development) of DRDO, and also Chief Executive and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace – a unique Joint Venture for the development of BRAHMOS Supersonic Cruise Missile. Dr. Pillai’s four decades of experience in ISRO and DRDO under the great visionary leaders Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, Prof. Satish Dhawan and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam made him a Technology Leader in the field of launch vehicles and guided missiles. His contributions to the successful development of SLV-3 as a core team member and evolution of PSLV configuration for ISRO have been remarkable. His skills in networking multiple institutions for the development of critical missile technologies overcoming denial regimes enabled realization of Agni, Prithvi, Nag and Akash missiles under the IGMDP as Programme Director. Dr. Pillai is regarded as the Father of BRAHMOS, the joint venture between India and Russia to design, develop, produce and market the supersonic cruise missile BRAHMOS. His outstanding leadership qualities made India proud to possess the fastest, highly precise and the most potent missile BRAHMOS which is now inducted in the Indian Armed Forces. BRAHMOS is a world leader in the family of Cruise Missiles surpassing those in the developed countries. Well-known as a defence technologist in the world, Dr. Pillai has been recognised by many prestigious engineering and management institutions with Fellowships. He is a certified Level ‘A’ Project Director of IPMA. He has received many Honorary Doctorates from reputed Universities of India and Russia. The Moscow University of “Security, Defence and Law Enforcement” honoured Dr. Pillai with the Order of the Peter the Great and the Academician of the University. Dr. Pillai has published many papers in the international and national journals and conferences. Dr. Pillai has written many books including Revolution in Leadership, Nano Science and Nano Technology for Engineering. He is the co-author with Dr. Kalam for the books (a) Envisioning an Empowered Nation and (b) the recently published ‘Thoughts for Change – we can do it’. Dr.Pillai is a recipient of various prestigious awards including Padma Shri (2002) & Padma Bhushan (2013) for his contribution to Aerospace and Missile Technologies.


President – Asset Management , Insurance and International Business at Kotak Mahindra Group   Gaurang ShahMr. Gaurang Shah is President – Asset Management , Insurance and International Business at Kotak Mahindra Group and is responsible for Life Insurance, General Insurance, New Pension Scheme, Asset Management and the International business of the Kotak Mahindra Group. He took over this assignment on May 1, 2010. He is also a member of the Operating Management Committee of the Kotak Mahindra Group. Prior to this, Mr. Shah was the Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Limited. Mr. Shah has over 32 years of rich and varied experience primarily in the Financial Services sector, several of which are with the Kotak Mahindra Group. He has held several positions of high responsibility over the years, including, inter alia, the Head of Retail Assets at Kotak Mahindra Bank. He was also closely associated with Kotak Mahindra Primus (a joint venture between Kotak Mahindra Group and Ford Credit International), among India’s leading automobile finance companies. Mr. Shah is a merit ranked Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and Company Secretary.
