Gitanjali J Angmo, a social entrepreneur and an educationist, is a proponent of lifelong learning. She says her true purpose is helping others find their true purpose through learning and education. It led her to establish Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL), the fourth startup she founded after setting up businesses in Engineering, Publishing and Healthcare. HIAL is an alternative university for the youth of Himalayan countries. It is a platform to explore challenges and solutions unique to mountain people in the domain of education, environment and cultural identity.

Gitanjali was an advisor to the Government of Maharashtra on the setting up of the Maharashtra International Education Board (MIEB). A speaker of international repute, she has won national and international accolades for her work.
